Indian Ridge Trail
An easy hike with a scenic overlook of Dartmouth and the Connecticut River. Accessible from trailhead at entrance to Gile Drive and continues past Coburn Hill to connect with Boston Lot Lake trails.
Boston Lot Lake Mountain Bike Trail
A mix of singletrack, doubletrack and fire road trails with some slab rock and a few rock gardens. Additional parking areas on Route 10 (across from spillway) and Pine Hill Road (by cement blocks). Connects with Indian Ridge, Pine Hill and Medical Center trails.
Appalachian Trail (13.9 miles in Hanover)
The trail comes into Hanover over Ledyard Bridge and goes through town to the DC athletic fields behind Mobil Station on Route 120 approximately 1.5 miles from Gile Hill. The AT exits Hanover at Goose Pond Road. Trail crosses Trescott Road, Hanover Center Road, and Three Mile Road. Strenuous over Velvet Rocks and Moose Mountain, other sections moderate to easy.

Paddling and fishing opportunities also abound within a few minutes drive of Gile Hill. The Connecticut River offers recreational opportunities such as swimming near Dartmouth Boat House dock and canoe and kayak rentals from the Ledyard Canoe Club
